and... action!!!

i thought i was caught in the middle of a movie scene today... but it turned out to be a live cops and robbers moment that i had the privilege of witnessing... and let me just tell you i actually applauded the police while driving... this confused the kids but i was totally impressed... they were so awesome... so here's what happened...
after hours waiting at the eye specialists office and after millions of eye tests for the kids (thank God it's not Glaucoma after all)... i picked up some mc donalds from ronald on the way home... so there i was... yes with a divine french fry in my mouth... no good for ass i know!!... squeezing a tiny container between me thighs with the tomato sauce in it... you know i have to dunk the french fry before i can eat it... dah... so i was driving along like a law abiding citizen... and RIGHT IN FRONT OF ME... there is this black bmw... suddenly pulls out the blue light... pops it on the roof... and i'm like...
kids!!!!!!! lookit!!!!!!!! lookit!!!!!!!!
next thing the bmw's reverse lights starts flickering... and the siren goes off and they bmw blocks this other car right here in front of me... 3.5 seconds later this will smith look~alike cop jumps out of the bmw and pulls like 10 crooks out of the other car... he had a pistol in his hand...RIGHT THERE IN FRONT OF ME... i was scared i have to admit...didn't want to be hit by a stray bullet y'know... so i drove away like crazy... SO exciting... i'm even writing in capital letters and that never happens... so bloody exciting minute i had there today... go SAPS go! ...and thanks... oh yeah oh yeah!

sheena... i know!!!!!!!! LOL

nat: as they should... ;-)

sage: you poor babe...

angel: i do! had the kids eyes tested at the start of the new year... and the ex has it... above average pressure in the eyes... which can lead to glaucoma... scary shit... so i told the optometrist to check it... she thought i was over reacting but tested it anyway... and both had it... extremely rare for any person under the age of 40, never mind kids... so she referred me to eye specialist... turns out they have very thick corneas that can give faulty pressure readings....BUT Kay does have a pressure of 24 and it should be below 20, which is not good, but highly treatable... so next check up in 6 months time... phew... thank God for small mercies XXX

Erm - near-death experience is "exciting?" Am I the only one who thinks this is weird?

Humph, now if you could tell which area these cops were from and I will track down the will-smith look-alike, The Pickle needs a sibbling.

Maybe it was another SAPS/NPA altercation. Seems to be a lot of that going around.

LOL at Kyknoord's comment!

Were there actually any shots fired?

good to hear of the SAPS actually doing something useful.

we went to the police station the other day, about 5 vans parked outside, all of the police guys and gals inside all happily sharing a lunch of KFC (in USA cops love donuts, in SA its, KFC all the way) and they looked at us like we were chicken-thieves when we walked in there and asked to make out an affidavit.

well at least the cop did not go and join them in the car for a beer...
I meen the SAPS is so corrupt it aint even funny

kyk... it was just a lot of testosterone... i kind of got stuck there...

glug... i dunno... remember i drove away really really fast!

expensive: yeah i know, that's why this impressed me so much, at least someone is doing something right... somewhere!

will... i know... i know...

well well, the cops being coppy rather than crappy - good for them! i'm hoping our esteemed fellow citizens at the embassy will be half as efficient as the SAPS.

We all need occasional excitement like that to get our blood circulating!

I woulda had those kids under the seats in a heart beat...
I remember just befor 1994 my mom baby sis and I were in the city for some reason and the next thing we drive into a riot.
In those days mom drove with a 38special on her lap.
I remember her pushing my head down and all that I saw was her foot flat on the gas...
one of the rioters hit one of the windows with a spade and since it was so near my sisters baby seat I thought mom may use the 38 on him... instead she just swore a hell of a lot

Were the crooks really small people or was the car really big?
