lip service

i got my first lip wax yesterday...
i don't tweeze...
it's very painful...
and when i went to the beautician to do my brows i told her...
ffs just wax my top lip too :)
i really don't have an extremely furry top lip...
keep that in mind, but
I'm just paranoid because of two things...

i worked with a woman years ago, she was very feminine but that top lip!!! omg i had to physically restrain myself every time i talked to her...i just wanted to either touch that moustache or pluck it out... i could never figure out which...
and the second incident...
my horrible best friend was in a very playful mood the other day...
and in the middle of our chat said this...
so when are you shaving your moustache off?
i fainted of course...
so i decided (vir die wis en die onwis)... just in case... I'm taking no chances with this sucker!
pluck it!
beauty knows no pain and all that jazz...
so i was lying there and getting more worried by the minute...
that deep inner voice was bugging me...
oh shit sweets i don't know if this is such a good idea...
i, of course ignored that wise little voice...
i mean the hot wax was on my lip, what was i supposed to do?
let's just say my subconcious remembered an incident that i do my best to forget...
let me explain...

there is an Indian method of removing hair... with string... i know
weird right?
but it's amazing
it works
...
for other people!
i saw the technique done
then i wanted what they had!
i jumped in the chair and said
do me!
do me!
and of course they did me...
looked great
until the next morning...
breaking pieces of hair off was maybe not such a good idea
tiny little zits formed all over my brows...
(they did my eyebrows)
arhhhhhhhhhhhh the shame

everywhere i went
people would look twice and innocently ask
what's wrong with your eyes?
my standard answer after the 10th person...
fuck off and mind your own eyebrows!

ok so i never did that again
but now i tried the lip wax
not with string
with wax
omg
i figured the hair is physically yanked out right?
so no zits can appear!
big mistake
i feel like my top lip is on fire
or something
i have a sensitive skin but even this is taking it a bit far
i have teensy weensy little zits on my top lip now
i
am
a
sex
goddess... so sexy :)
oy!

Maybe for your next (if there is going to be one) wax you can put on some soothing aloe vera on right after the wax? That normally helps me when I do my eyebrows. :)

The tyranny of beauty. Self-inflicted wounds are always the most painful.

LMFAO!!

sorry man.. at least you got someone else to do it for you.. the way things go is that if you had done it yourself you would've probably waxed your moustache to your nose hairs.. and i don't see you getting yourself outta that there pickle..easily ;-)

hahahahahahahahahahahahahah
ahahahahahahahahahah

Hi Sweets...

Shame man. I have been waxing my upper lip for quite some time now. The best thing to apply is some savlon or dettol ointment. It really works.

I do the threading thing on my brows. I love the way they shape it. However careful of the person who does it for you. Some people dont use a new piece of thread every time they have a client - hence the zit reaction....

It will get better....

While I am, of course, sorry for your pain, that is an v funny story. Hope your lip calms down before the weekend.

Not sure if a congratulations is in order being your first one?
I have a work colleague with longer hairs than mine on her chin and moustache - random hairs but the thing is that it doesn't seem to concern her and all I'm thinking is gross. And it looks like she shaves sometimes so good on all you ladies for taking the time out to go through such pain. Us men do appreciate it, tust me on this one.

you cant take my title- Sex goddess of the western hemisphere...

Sometimes, during waxings, iwonder if it would be best to just not have the ability to grow hair, and invest in some good wigs.. wigs dont hurt much...

Always wax on a Thursday. Then IF you do break out in little zits, it will be fine by Monday lol

Also use a washcloth and just gently massage the lip in the opposite direction of the growth. Will stop the zits.

lol NO I DON'T WAX .... I just know these things! (okay that's a lie but ...)

I hear ya Sistah and as a sign of solidarity and to keep one manicured toe in the Metrosexual Club,
I shave my pits...
OK OK and to eliminate gasses caused by munching bacteria ew.

Sugaring, threading, waxing, plucking, Dayam!
If only we were still knuckling about back out on the Savannagh all that hair would be ooh-ooh aah-aah!

In the future they'll only clone hairy ladies for the Circus and everybody else will be as smooth as a baby's behind...honest.

Oh god you poor thing! I know exactly whats that like. Luckily I persevered and now it doesn't grow anymore. Worth the pain! I used to get a rash immediately afterward though. It would go away about 2 hours after, but for those two hours I looked like I had eaten bad seafood!
Still giggling at your description..
