kick ass fish

didn't you know that fish kicked ass? wow you are so stuck in the '80's if you don't like fish :)

i read a post over at the Divine sleepy jane's about her new pretties... and remembered that i forgot to tell you about what happened the other day...

turns out i have porridge fingers, yes and having porridge fingers when you're cleaning a fish tank is probably not the best thing... so yes... i broke my 100 litre hexagon shaped tank... it's a heck of a job to clean that tank lemme tell you... i have cold water fish cause i haven't hooked up the tank heater yet and the fish tank does need a thorough cleaning about once every 2 months... so i pumped all of the water out... with the suction thing... and when batman came to fetch the kids for the weekend i asked him to please take the sucker outside so i could scrub it down ... all's well, batman does what he's asked... and leaves with the kids... there i stand in my pj's with the hose, ready to clean the sucker... but the tank in daylight shows all the yuckiness i didn't even notice inside... so i thought it best to clean all the pebbles too...
then...a super intelligent thought comes to mind...

put the tank on it's side sweets!!...

will work like a charm!!...

everybody can so nooooooooooooooooo right about here...

yip it will work like a charm if you want to break the damn tank... which i promptly proceeded to do of course...

Awww! :( Where are the fishies now? LUCKILY they're not tropical fish (you know, need the heater etc) otherwise you'd have been in a bind.

Theres a reason I don't like pets.

Are the kids not enough of a responsibility? Do they know you destroyed their little buddies home?

Did you know fishes is a word in the dictionary. People usually say one fish many fish but now we know different. Always wondered what it would be like to have a fish tank: pro's and con's?
Oh - can this word verification thing be disabled, whats the point of it?

Ouch, I can just imagine that split second where time stands still and you realise that this was a bad idea.

I'm starting to wonder if I shouldn't maybe follow your lead, only I'd be breaking my fishtank on purpose. All but two of my fish have died, and I'm starting to regret getting them in the first place.

jane: i bought a new tank of course, luckily only cost R259 for a 60 litre tank, so the fishes are now happy in their new home!

asylum fishes just doesn't sound right... hehe

angel: i almost cut my arm off with the cut glass!

leez: yes i fessed up immediately... kind of difficult to hide :) they laughed AT me... i so love my kids :) fish are friendly, honestly :)

asylum: i disabled it, i wasn't even aware it was on :) fishes eh? ok fishes it is then :)~ fishes are great, the first week i had them every chance i got my face was glued to the tank watching them, so strange i know. they're very relaxing, you either like the thought of them or you don't, I like pets that don't need much attention, that's about it...

ark: i've only ever lost 1 fishy... it died a day after i got them, i think it was stressed out with my face glued to the tank the whole time...

that split second went like this.... oooooohhhhhhhhhh shiiiiiiiiiiitttttttt... *in slow motion*

Poor fishies were temporarily homeless! Glad they're in the new tank OK. Does the new one have 5 sides like the old one?

Eeeeeeeeek! That was an expensive mistake!

Article next day in the local newspaper - "Fish needing new home - We, the fish of Sillyville, require a new home. Must be spacious, have clean water and be shrubbed clean to exacting standards. Must also be willing to come by and pick us up as our current owner spanked our little butts and pulled our tails in a ruthless manner on a day and daily basis. Stupid potential owners wearing pj bottoms with the lethal device of a hose in hand need not apply. We'll be standing outside current owner's home with our little bags pre-packed and our little sad faces hanging low in sadness"

You can't cuddle fish like you can puppies or kitties. If you want them to survive, that is.

bic pen: i know! no eyelids, very dodgy!

king: mwhhhhhhhhhahahahahahahahaha

I love fish. As soon as I move into my new house I am going to get a huge tank. I won fish at a carnival once and it lived for two years, which is like 100 human years.

How's this for a random comment, hey?

jacks: well start saving... a huge tank = mega bucks BUT = great fun too ;) yes... random schmamdom ;)

i have finally admitted the sad fact that, try as i might, i should not be allowed to ever own a fish.

I tend to kill them within about 2 weeks on average. I think im done with fish.

I can barely manage a half-gallon aquarium. It's tough.
