never say never...

i was convinced i worked for a pretty decent boss... but after giving her my resignation yesterday she IMMEDIATELY told me that my 14 working days leave that i still have, she doesn't have the money to pay me for them...so before 1 November i will be on leave a lot... cause I'm sure as shit not taking that... do you feel sorry for her? don't... cause she actually does have money to pay me... but she just doesn't want to... she's stingy that way...behind my back she enquired from my colleague if in fact the one calender month notice i gave her was stated in my contract...

so here's a few things I've learnt...

  • if you want loyalty, buy a dog

  • nobody is ever indispensable

  • never think twice taking a better job, no love lost at all...

so there... it's a done deal... I've been told to take leave next week, knocking off the first 5 days off the 14 days... leaving me with another 9 days... *giggle*

so I'll probably won't be blogging next week... my kids are on holiday so I'll be spending my time watching movies and eating popcorn...

it's all good :)

Wow- I agree with Angel. Cash would have been nice, BUT enjoy your mini break with the kids.

Sounds like you should be happy to dust your shoes off after that place...

Well at least your notice period won't drag on with all the leave you'll be having?

Just shows you what people are like. But enjoy your leave - in a way, it's nice to have time off before you start a new job anyway.

Ha ha, she sounds like any typical boss.

At least you needn't feel bad AT ALL about leaving now.

And enjoy your holiday. Even though the cash would be nice, I expect the time off in between jobs will be better for you.

Yep. I'm with you on those three things. The cow. Enjoy your holiday!

Enjoy your leave, hopefully you will enjoy it much more than if you had gotten the money for the days :)

You could perhaps break into your work place one night next week and borrow some money and of course you didn't hear that from me. Ok? Good. :-D

Have an enjoyable week with the boys and hopefully you wont have any more problems with your plumbing *snicker*.

Typical! it doesn't matter how nice bosses are when you work for them, they turn as soon as you resign!
Anyhoo, at least you're guaranteed of taking the last month easy :)

It's perfect that you get to take 'holiday' with the boys. Congratulations on getting the new job. I totally agree with you. People aren't loyal. Not in business anyway

Hi, I found your site through kyknoord's blog. Do I feel sorry for your boss? Absolutely not! In fact, if you felt like it (which you probably don't), I'd say you could fight that- I don't think she can refuse to pay your leave because "she doesn't have any money". That's lame. But on the other hand, it's nice getting a break before a new job.

ooooooh noice!!! enjoy sweety pie...you deserve the off time anyhow:) I've been off since wednesday and only came back today, in case you were wondering why i've been so quiet:)

I agree with you hun, if you can get a much better option somewhere else, take it...you don't owe your boss anything but basic loyalty....you know, stipulated by your contract, other than that....well, life is fair game;)

Crap boss! Enjoy the mini break hun :-)

What is it about female bosses?
Seriously. So crap.
Not all of them, but generally speaking!
Good riddance it seems. Sounds like you got out just in time!!

Enjoy your forced leave...still...it's a holiday! I'm envious!

It could be worse. You could start a new job and have to work much longer before you get your leave than you would have had to if you has stayed int he curent job. Although, not much of a consolation if you need the money. Enjoy the break, enjoy the kids!
