the smaller the better

size doesn't count after all... ok with certain stuff size sure as shit does count...

:)

but really?... not as much as you guys think...

ok I'm not talking about peeno's today... I'm talking about my irritating ways... I'm forever making notes during the day... 10 years ago i could actually remember the smallest detail without needing to put pen to paper but alas i have made peace with the fact that when you hit 30... yes 30 people... shocking but true... your mind start using it's amazing capacity to just flippen well i don't know what... but to remember small countless little facts?... or even very important messages and details? no chance... anyway... granted, the concept of writing the info down is a good idea ... and i purchased a nice book to do this in... but if you have a phone to your ear and your mind in a different location... well to remember to JUST use the damn book just doesn't always work... to add to this irritation, just as you put the phone down and you REMEMBER to write down the info in the said book... somebody calls my name and the piece of paper flutters to the surface of my desk... and DISAPPEAR.... mysteriously... luckily I'm not totally brain dead... typically two days later i would either wake with a start in the middle of the night... or stirring my coffee would ignite a moment of genius and i would REMEMBER that important thing that i never did ...

*my thought pattern goes pretty much like this when the light bulb goes on in my head*

GASP!

DANG... i had to do something important....

what could it be?? hmmmmm....

*scratching chin*...

oh look at the pretty flower... smile...

*screechy music inside my head brings me back to original thought pattern*
SHIT!

i forgot to do X...!!!!

nooooooooooooo! how could i forget this???

luckily my boss is 30 years my senior... ;) 'nuff said!

so is it a good idea to write down your boss's flight booking info on a piece of paper?...

bookings that you haven't made yet??...

info that you need to make those damn bookings with?

on a piece of paper that inevitably disappears?

not so much...

Bwahahaha...I can SO relate. I have this stupid orange book that I have to write everything in otherwise I am totally lost.

Maybe as your boss is 30 years older than you, you could get away with saying that she never actually gave you the information in the first place.

I often do that with my boss, who also happens to be my Dad, who also happens to have been a hippy stoner when he was younger so his memory SUCKS.

I talk to clients all day long and have to be able to quote them on occasion - I have a ring bound book that it HUGE and it stays in front of me all day. I put everything in there. Then when I leave the office and need to remember when and where I'm meeting the girls - can't remember now can I? I now type out notes and print them and fold them up and put them in my wallet/purse. I have dozens of notes drifting around my handbag that escaped the wallet. Argh..

First time i am reading your blog and i find this post hilarious. 'Nut' is a word that comes to mind - or 'silly nut' when you probably rummaging through your notes and still can't find what you were meant to have remembered and thought you would have written down (not sure if this ever happened - but it does in movies so wtf).

Taking from your booking of flights, I'm guessing you a PA or secretary, whatever the case is, you write well and so i am a bit confused, PR would be better i would think but now i'm just assuming because i don't know what you do do. Anyways, saying that in one breath and with my thoughts all over the place, look forward to reading the next one!

I'm supposed to keep a log book, but I always forget to take it with me when I drive, so I write things on the back of business cards, till slips and even tissues. And then I lose them.

I should probably leave the log book in the car.

tam: i tried the logbook... didn't work :( LOL i've never written on a tissue tho!

i do that all the time... i will write something down that i need to remember, but i do it cryptically for some reason, like i just want to give myself a hint.

then i look at the paper the next day, and spend an hour trying to figure out what i was trying to tel myself...

I keep a small notepad in my pocket because I suffer from CRS. Can't remember shit.

I hope you made those bookings the moment you remembered.

People always say writing something down helps you remember. That is so not true.

I used to leave little post-its around reminding em to do things. It didn't help much when I'd find one saying "tim"... tim what? Who the hell is tim?

You're fine the way you are Sweets. Most people remember things with a GASP and an OH SHIT!xx

At 62 I still trust my memory. Perhaps I shouldn’t? Two hours ago I was supposed to have been at a medical appointment, but I forgot about it.

I've been using a notebook for years now, my short term memory damn well walked out on me at the age of about 23.

30!?
Wait 'til you're 50 and see how much room is left on your hard drive!

The only saving grace is that most of the stuff that you 'forget' was trifling trivial tedious crap anyway....you're better off not worrying about it and it really doesn't make any difference.
